Final Logo Family

After deciding on the font i wanted to use, i then needed to make each stations logo unique and different but at the same time show the family relation. I decided having the font the same and everything else different would be my best option. I also decided the fonts would be the same size. The uses of colour were vital as i wanted to keep the logos easy to look at and inviting appealing to my audiences, the use of yellow in the VIP logo goes well as this colour is commonly known to show a VIP, or gold. Also the use of the rope shows the high level of importance.
With the Pulse logo i wanted to do a similar thing once again making it easy to look at and similar to the others. The use of an actual pulse used commonly in hospitals allowing the audiences to recognise what is intended. The main idea for the logos was the be stero-typically known making the audience familiar with the logos and similarly the objects.
Finally with mixx we wanted to show a bright young happy, yet energetic feel using the colour blue which could represent freshness or happiness, we also used hands blending in with the logo to show an almost rave/ dance/ party effect furthermore going with the idea of a young life. Which also goes well with the audience and the type of music used on this station. Each logo was made specifically to attract their audience and work well with the genre of music with each station.
After realising how i wanted my fonts to look i look at beggining to create them, i started by visiting dafont.com which is where i found my first idea for a font, however after more research into fonts i decided to change and go with the font i finally used with my logos. I then decided on my colours which would work well with my genres and target audience. After creating i then edited on photoshop a slight drop shadow, i then added a red carpet barrier which went well with he vip effect. i then resized my image and added it over the vip font changing the transparency at the same time. After creating VIP i went onto pulse which was using the same font, i then created a zig zag on photoshop which i cropped and erased to create a pulse effect, once again cropped the picture to size and resized the images. Finally using the same font i created mixx however using hand which had to be edited as there was a background on the image, i then had to use the eraser tool to remove this i then similarly resized and cropped the picture so it was over the image. I then finally added to the brightness on all images making them look more fresh and now.
These are some screen shots i have taken whilst my work has been going on they show how i put the red rope onto the VIP logo.

My idea for mixx came through with the same idea as my one too VIP, but with a different object coming through the word mixx, which is similarly in the same font as VIP was. This station playing up and coming artist with a age range which is 16-30, which is the reason i decided my object for this logo would be hands to show an almost party.

pulse idea

Here is my pulse logo, this is final and shows the use of font and colour and object within the logo. This station appeals too 20 and beyond, and plays music such as classic pop nd 70s to 90s hits.

initial ideas logo

Here we have more information about my logos talking about how the objects relate to the station name, we can also see the final version of VIP and also the information on mixx and pulse, this saying the font - 'bernardino' and also the type of music played on the channel, the target audience and the colours. As you can see for VIP we have a yellow font which was always going to be the colour of the font, so no changes but instead of my initial ideas of a flashy boat of plane or car i have gone with red ropes, showing the extravagance and importance of the channel. We also show the competitors of the stations and why, for example the competetors for Pulse would be heart or magic as a result of our target audience and the genre of music this station plays.

logo ideas and decisions

Here i have my second logo Mixx i first decided i would like the same font and one hand coming through it. This to illustrate to the audience what we are trying to show which is a fun , teen, party type station.

This shows my ideas and planning for my logos VIP and half of Pulse, they show the target audience, the genre, the font and font size and the colours used and he objects used.

logo ideas 3

Here i have more ideas which i experimented with this included colours and font size. i also asked 'Taylor' a person in my class what he though of my ideas he said ' They were unique and stood out', he then showed me his and we both gave eachother feedback i once again looked back on the older ideas i had to once again look at how i could improve the logos, i looked again how stars looked with my work i once again decided with backup from taylor that they were not as good as my original idea, i then created VIP on paper using the object of a red rope which are used at big events to keep paperatzi and fans away suggesting the VIP effect.

I decided i liked this idea a lot and decided i would go with this idea, i then decided on the colour which once again i chose with a stero-typical mind frame, as people would recognise the reasons for a yellow font. I then set of to draw ruff versions of the other stations aswell.

logo ideas 2

This work shows some initial planning towards my family of logos, i explored fonts, texts, colours and ideas within the font. I needed the logo to represent the station and the genre and the audience. I used for buzz the idea of a bee as this is commonly known for a bee and the noise they make, however i decided this would not represent the audience appeal i am looking for. I came up with the idea of stars specifically for the VIP logo, but similarly this would not be as good in terms of the family of logos. I finally decided i would like to use an object stereo-typically going with the name of the station, for example with VIP the idea of a fast plane or flashy cars came to mind, similarly with Lock the idea of an actualy pad lock came to mind, however at this point i could not decide how i would make these a family of logos, so i therefore kept on researching and trying new things. I decided to finalize the fonts, i looked at many and tried out many on paper, specifically working with the type of station it was. I finally decided for the family of logos i would like to use the font 'Bernardino', after having the font i now needed to do further experiments with what i would like to do with the station names i had been given.

Superhero -Export

Export
I exported my work onto youtube and onto blogger, i titled these using my groups names, George + Craig The Grid.

Superhero- Editing your work

Editing
We filmed a lot more than we needed, which left us with a lot to work with. We then had with ease enough shots to make our Ident. Our idea consisted of our character going around/spinning on a chair, we sped this up which after we edited this made the audience laugh, as he fell off.

Superhero-Uploading my work

Uploading
To upload i exported from imovie then uploaded from 12lcm account onto youtube.

I then put the Ident on blogger aswell, i made a new post and labelled it George + Craig The Grid.

Superhero- Create your on screen graphics

On screen graphics
Our logo is big and bold, it stands out, but it is also a logo used for super hero's working well with our character and Ident idea therefore appealing to our audience 18- 30. We incorporated this into our Ident at the end, showing the program, we used effects during our Ident, for example we sped up moments to make our Ident funny, we also used stars to almost suggest a magic, super moment.

Superhero - behind the filming - decisions, revisions and results.

Filming our Ident
Within filming our Ident we came across a few set backs, these being our overall idea for our Ident, our first idea involved a football match which instantly showed some restrictions, the biggest one being we were not aloud to film in a stadium, however we decided using a superhero would be more rewarding as we can do many scenarios via this character. We were not sure at first how we could show our aim of watching our channel through a superhero, however we decided we would entice our audience through comedy which was one of our main themes.

List of props, location and sound

Ident 4 storyboard

With all of my storyboards the boxes which are not filled in are like this because we as a group are only using music and sound and voice overs, no dialogue.
The dialogue we use is only that within the voice overs, they will be clearly shown in the pictures, they will say in the box voice over.
The music we will be using in the Idents is shown in the post, which also shows the location and also a list of props.
