
Glenthorne's Sixth-form accademy offers the chance to prepare for a professional career in theatre through full time academic study. The Drama Academy programme is a two year programme, the course constructed to allow students to explore their individual skills to become inventive and imaginative practitioners. The accademy has many partnerships with practitioners such as BBC and the National Theatre. Students attend trips to places such as New York as well as an opportunity to take part in events such as World Challenge. As well as studying for three full time academic courses, you will also receive part funding towards Acting and musical Theatre Qualifications, students will have the opportunity to receive Bronze, Silver and Gold awards in acting. Students will be seeing a new drama studio opening in january 2011 which will increase the amount of drama rooms/studios too 5. Apart from auditioning for the accademys students will also have to have reached a B grade at a GCSE level.
